"Exposition de los Gatos" By Jesse Owens, Mixed Media
Acrylic, Oil, Pastels and Resin on paper.
Jesse's work began as a child consuming large amounts of network television programming and movies. Years later, a lasting desire for a professional creative occupation steered his attention towards Hollywood, California where he assumed an acting career. The combination of these experiences has come to inform his work in other visual mediums. Jesse Owens artistic energy manifested itself in a development known as “Art Cart” in Oceanside, California. A “one-man pop-up gallery”, perched on a concrete divider in the midst of a busy department-store parking lot. The work itself is mostly oil, chalk pastels, and drawing media on a variety of paper. It may be considered figurative expressions within a millennial context. The pop-cultural images he creates are thoughtfully paired with clever titles that continue to beg questions and spark social commentary in the local community and beyond.
