Roxana’s passion for art started in Iran when her teacher taught her to draw with chalk pastels. She was also inspired by her father, who was a very talented painter.
After she got married, she moved to Turkey where she explored her individual style and technique. She mostly used oil paints to create detailed landscapes. She says that this time was a very difficult and uncertain era in her life. The anxiety she felt can be reflected by the dark colors and eerie tone present in her paintings.
She then immigrated to the US determined to start a family and create a career for herself. Because of this, her priorities shifted, and she wasn’t focused on her art anymore.
After a long time, she finally went back to painting landscapes, but this time with a new perspective. Her landscapes are now filled with bright colors used to express her fulfilled and beautiful life; she uses acrylic and oil paints in order to achieve this. She wants her art to create a sense of euphoria and peace in whoever sees it. She gets her inspiration through music and her family, and hopes to translate her personal happiness onto the canvas.
