ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Sima Wewetzer

Sima Amid-Wewetzer originates from Tehran, Iran.  After completing her studies at the University Of Arts & Design in Iran in 1978 she moved to the United States.  Sima completed her education at Macomb University in Chicago, Illinois.  Sima has traveled & lived at many locations including, Tehran, New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Minnesota.  This has given her a lot of experience from other works of art as well as environmental influences.

Painting since the age of thirteen; Sima feels that her art allows her to become one with the surroundings.  This creates a relaxed, joyful and happy environment for herself and others viewing her vibrant work.  Sima has been part of multiple exhibitions from New York to the Iranian Culture Show in Beverley Hills to the Sun City Museum of Art in Arizona.

Recently Sima has concentrated on abstract landscape and has created her own unique technique.  Her paintings are best known for their exotic and effervescent colors as well as their natural qualities.  The results following her unique art work are flowing care-free designs with a delicate paint quality.

Sima moved to Minnesota in 2001.  She has become accustomed to the dramatic weather changes that occur in Minnesota.  The natural surroundings and landscapes in Minnesota have influenced her works of art.  In 2012 Sima was invited to have some of her originals to be published in a coffee table art book called International Contemporary Masters V1 by World Wide Art Book publishing.

Sima received a gold medal from Shah of Iran in competition between 350 artists throughout Iran at the age of 14.
