ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Kim Daw
After being a designer for over 10 years I have switched gears. I create large scale abstract art inspired by the colors and textures of nature. I use the same paint technique to up-cycle skis and snowboards. I also capture images of places and things that speak to me in black and white.
This change actually started with a faith crisis in my late 30’s that lead to me trying to figure out who I really was, inside my soul. My husband is the only one who new my real struggle with alcoholism. It owned me for years. I started listening to sobriety podcasts like Rock to Recovery and Sober Speak and heard on an episode that someone prayed for the mental obsession to go away. I tried it, and it worked for me! I just celebrated my 4 years of sobriety on September 30th, it took me years to get the balance and peace back.
Here it is!
My hope is that you can feel the peace and happiness that was felt while creating these pieces of art and enjoy that in your space.
I will always donate a portion of my profits toward fighting addiction through recovery and am activly looking for opportunities to donate to causes that speak to me.
This is just the beginning.
