Description:

This painting is about trust and optimism. It is said that people who live in a world of uplifting thoughts aren’t facing reality. But the fact is, their reality is different than others’. It tends to match their attitude. They trust that all is unfolding with purpose and their lives reflect that thinking. This is no simple philosophical pondering for me. Indeed, I believe this is the key to an expansive, fully lived life. Challenges still happen. But the difference in moving through them brings to mind the words of poet Patrick Overton:

“When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take the step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for us to stand on or we will be taught to fly.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Paul Bond’s award-winning oil paintings live in the spaces between dreaming and reality.

Born in 1964 in Guadalajara, Mexico, he draws from the Latin American genre of Magic Realism where symbolic and fantastic elements blend with realistic atmospheres, unveiling a world where anything is possible. His paintings merge symbolic, surreal and fantastic elements with realistic atmospheres to unveil a world where everything is possible. He often refers to then as “fairy tales for adults”. By merging and altering familiar objects –mixed with equal parts whimsy, wonder and mysticism – Bond’s works delight the imagination and stir the soul.

Bond’s award-winning art has been featured in galleries and museums, including the Gateway Museum in Farmington, NM and the San Diego Art Institute. His paintings are now in private collections throughout the US and worldwide. Corporate collections include Fox, Warner Bros and NBC Studios, Royal Caribbean International, Scripps Hospital, Marriott Hotels, Hotel EMC2, and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
