Bob Hogue sold his business, went on vacation in the spring, and found a paint brush in his hands between tee times. He set down his clubs and his world quite quickly went from ‘ the greens’ to a whole new palette of colors.
As the story goes...
“This minor and unexpected event sent me on a path that I never envisioned that would be my future. A few months later I was juried into the Orange County Fine Arts Association. This first experience opened the door for me and continues to unfold in remarkable ways.
Life itself becomes art and the canvas captures those moments in time. The pure joy of painting and all things related to it have made a profound impression on me and enriched so many aspects of my life.
Most of my works have many lives before reaching their final destination. Every painting is an exploration with color, texture, and many tools for art making. The joy is in the creation. The finish isn’t always what the vision was at the start. In many cases the finish can be when the painting lets me know we’re complete.
I feel grateful to share a part of this journey through my work. it as well.”
