Artist Bio

Lia Goritz is a Laguna Beach–based oil painter whose work celebrates the extraordinary beauty of the Southern California coastline. Inspired by the ocean, dramatic sunsets, and the ever-changing light along the coast, Goritz creates luminous landscapes that capture both the energy and serenity of familiar places from Laguna Beach to Dana Point and San Clemente.

An active member of the California Art Club, Goritz regularly participates in member plein air paint-outs, bringing her direct observations of nature and light into her studio practice. She has successfully exhibited with LagunaART for more than a year, as well as with other local galleries.

Light is at the heart of Goritz’s work. Her paintings capture those fleeting moments when the sky, ocean, and landscape seem to illuminate one another—creating an almost ethereal sense of “as above, so below.” Her celebrated interpretation of Main Beach, Laguna Beach has become one of her most recognized works and continues to find its way into private collections and new homes.

In addition to her original oil paintings, Goritz offers select works as limited-edition, three-dimensional textured giclées. Using advanced 3D scanning and printing technology, these editions reproduce the dimensional qualities of the original painting—including the texture, depth, sheen, and expressive character of the artist’s brushstrokes.
