I loved to doodle growing up. Little flowers, hearts and squiggles all over my notebooks. Who knew those doodles would lead me here. I have dabbled in several different mediums and genres over my many years. I started my journey as an artists’ apprentice which led me to having my own studio, creating custom floor canvases (think oil cloths) for peoples homes. After several years of custom work I decided to go back to school to pursue a BFA in graphic design at The Corcoran School of Arts in Washington, DC.
It was there that I realized my strengths for design, technical drafting and color theory started to merge. I have had many businesses over the years, all utilizing those strengths. I have had a children’s business which specialized in hand-painted and personalized furniture and accessories. I started a belt buckle manufacturing company where my original artwork, topped with Swarovski crystals were produced shipped worldwide.
In between all these different chapters of my book of life, I am a mom to two amazing kids. I never gave up my passion for painting. I still create custom floor canvases but have now evolved to abstract/intuitive artwork. There is such a release when you throw your whole self into a piece. I have found that color, design and getting my fingers, and toes if Im honest, covered in paint is my favorite thing. Everyday is an evolution of personal growth, new materials and exploration.
