ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Tom Watson
I’m inspired by nature, its mechanics and due to a constant curiosity of art, it wasn’t long before I combined my love of creativity and welding. When I create, there is a sense of love and healing that I feel flow through me. I can’t imagine a day without coming up with new and innovative ideas of what to create next, I really do find joy in the process, in the trial and errors and in the experimentation process. It allows me to express my inner curiosity and discovery to the tangible and physical.
The sculptures come to fruition from thought to creation is unlike anything I can explain, it provides me with a real sense of fulfilment and accomplishment that I am capable of creating the work that I do.
I am inspired by the everyday and my goal is to harness my craft and continue to evoke a sense of play in the trade. I plan to explore the depths of manipulating metal and all its forms, whether it be through welding and fabricating, casting and melting metals or allowing the environments such as water and air to take on life of its own in oxidization.
My curiosity and skill are limitless.
