“Galina studied graphic design at UCSB and for many years worked as a graphic designer, creating logos, advertisements, posters and brochures. She went on to work for the FBI in Los Angeles as a language analyst, but her passion for art remained.
Mostly self-taught, Galina is a passionate painter, whether she works in oil, watercolor, charcoal or pastel. She loves capturing human emotions in a portrait and finds inspiration from her daughters, family and friends, her own life experiences and observations.
Galina is a member of the American Women Artists Association, Buenaventura and Thousand Oaks Art Associations, where her artwork has received recognition from her peers and the public. She accepts portrait commissions, paints plein air, enjoys life figure drawing, attends classes and workshops taught by renowned local and international artists, including, Aaron Westerberg, Keiko Tanabe, Nick Runge, Cuong Nguyen, Gerald Brummer, Paul Jackson, Jeannie Vodden, and Judy Koenig.”
