Sophia Polenek is a self-taught abstract painter from Canada, creating large acrylic on canvas works in vibrant colour.  Sophia studied art throughout her youth, but her academic strengths in math and science led her towards a career as a Professional Engineer. Her love of design and architecture quickly steered her towards a successful and continued career in real estate. Much of her inspiration comes from emotions experienced throughout her travels to California and Croatia. Each piece entertains the battle between the engineer and the artist, and the beauty in letting go.  "When you quiet the mind, let go and look around, the magic of life will appear to reveal itself."  Her works attempt to convey feelings of contentment, happiness, gratefulness, joy and self reflection.
