California artist, Kim Snyder has been painting professionally since 2009. Her distinctive abstract style has attracted collectors across the country.
Her abstract works portray her perception of the natural world as she brings to life her own emotions and view of the interconnectedness of all things. Kim’s work is guided by her desire to seek peace and calm. Her work ultimately emphasizes the act letting go in order to find a sense of peace and calm. Kim chooses to work on a large scale because gives importance to the details and nuances and at the same time evoke the vastness of nature.
Kim’s paintings are created using a wet and wet process in which she works with wet paint, never waiting for it to dry. Diving into her art both emotionally and physically; Kim allows her canvas to be a vessel for her meditative and creative journey. She initially pours the paint directly onto the canvas, which also acts as her palette, and physically mixes and texturizes the colors to express the movement and flow she feels when she creates.
Today, Kim continues to explore the connections in nature, such as the similarities in the movements in air and water.
