ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Silvi began her art career while studying at the Sorbonne Paris IV University in France. She continued painting portraits and landscapes in oil under Timothy J. Clark, renown artist in Laguna Beach, California.
Much of Silvi's work was influenced by the impressionists such as Monet and Renoir. She painted her early life's landscapes at Giverny and Rouen, in France, where her family is from and where she lived early on.
The second stage of her career, Silvi lived and exhibited in Silicon Valley, California at the Fremont Art Association (FAA). Working as a Professor in Santa Cruz, California, she began to paint seascapes in acrylics, influenced by the sea life around her.
Silvi's art work is composed of mixed media, which incorporates sea shells and butterflies from her own collections from around the world. You might find a hidden seashell from the Hawaiian islands or a colorful butterfly from the Mediterranean in your art piece.
