ABOUT THE ARTIST:
With degrees in Literature and in Biology, and eventually a masters in Clinical Science, I started drawing and painting at the same time as my laboratory career, winning 1st and 3rd place in graphic arts in 1988 and 1989 in the Society of Western Artists annual shows, and was featured as the Artist of the Month in North Light magazine.
During my forty years in the laboratory industry, a decade working in San Francisco and it’s fishing industry, while living in the East Bay, took advantage of its working local marine scenes, especially the tug boats, local dry docks, with their variety of boats .
In 2020 while we looked for a home that would accommodate our three dogs and our increasing number of grandchildren, I focused on writing, completing a novel and a book of short stories. In part due to the to the pandemic, in part due to not finding a house, I focused on creating art on my computer. In April of 2022, after living in Dana Point for 14 months, we finally found our house in SJC and we converted part of the garage into a working studio, and I began painting again, along with woodworking, and paper making.
