ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Bonnie Perlin

Bonnie Perlin was born in New York and graduated from Hofstra
University with a degree in Elementary Education and Spanish. She
left teaching in 1988 to begin her art career. She studied under the
tutelage of famed portrait painter, Charles Pasqualina, where she
developed a photo realistic style. She continued painting and
studying with other artists, including Charles Sovek and Howard
Rose and taking workshops in the States and abroad. Her work has
appeared in many exhibitions and shows in New York and Florida,
including the Mansion in Old Westbury Gardens, the Hecksher
Museum, the National Arts Club in Manhattan with the Catherine
Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, The Sundance Gallery in Bridgehampton,
the Boca Museum of Art, the Linda White Gallery in Delay Beach,
The Heart of Delray Gallery, in Delray Beach, and The Gallery
Lounge in the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida. She
participated in the Artist's Plate Project to feed the hungry at the
Seacliff Gallery. Her work is displayed in many private collections
and businesses.
Her body of work is very diversified, including
landscapes, seascapes, city-scapes, and people. Her love of color is very evident in her work, bringing the viewer into the painting with her use of color, lights and darks. "As an artist, besides the process, which I love, there is no greater pleasure than having the viewer relate to my work. It is that human connection which we all strive for, and if this can be achieved through what I have painted, I have achieved my goal."
