Colliding Bird Analogies by Brett Nickell
14" x 22"
Colliding Bird Analogies is an abstraction of bird forms with a golden bird shape in flight merging with a violet bird’s neck. Both birds share a central eye where they intersect.
It was created primarily with spray paint using techniques similar to watercolor in which the paint was over sprayed with a solvent while wet and encouraged to move, mix and flow. The resulting happy accidents suggested a bird motif which I then developed further with oil pastels and acrylics – but not too much. I always like to leave room for the viewer’s imagination to join in the fun of discovering possible forms.
Colliding Bird Analogies is on paper and has been generously treated with a UV and water resistant varnish. It will be shipped flat in a well protected package to ensure pristine condition upon arrival.
