"Clawing at the Door" by Jack Muschog, Mixed Media on Canvas
72" x 48"
Mixed Media on Canvas (acrylic, crayon, colored pencil, oil pastel)
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Mixed Media artist based in Los Angeles.
As a self taught artist with no formal training in the arts, he relies on the relationships between: EXPERIENCE, EMOTION, and OBSERVATION. His works are statements against the societal bounds that tell us to ignore what is innate in us. To trust based off of feel as opposed to fact. Each piece is meant to spread that message. He stands by the belief that we are all mosaics of one another, and wants to portray that each artwork is an extension of YOURSELF.
Style wise, he is heavily influenced by the symbolism, contemporary, abstract, and neo-expressionism movements. Personally, he is influenced by all genres of music, philosophy, the tao, and existentialism.
His works are meant to evoke the principle that we are vastly complex and ever changing beings, and that when you have run out of words to describe your existence, you have simply reached the meaning of life.
