Julia San Román is an American artist, born and raised in Madrid, Spain, who has lived in San Diego County, CA since 1988 but shares her time yearly in Madrid. Originally trained as a scientist she holds a PhD in Biology. She returned to college to study art in 2000. She now paints full time and has exhibited collectively across the U.S., including NY, L.A., Santa Fe NM, New Orleans, Houston, Bernardsville (NJ) and Washington DC. Solo shows include the Oceanside Museum of Art, Sonya Sparks Gallery San Diego, San Diego International airport, W.D. Cannon public art gallery in Carlsbad and a number of commercial galleries in San Diego.
Her work has been reviewed by San Diego Union Tribune, the L.A. critic Grady Harp for “POETS and ARTISTS”, and for VOYAGER (Dallas & San Diego).
