The heartache of being away from loved ones, excitement and uncertainty of what laid ahead of her seemed overwhelming, but she was positive that this was a wonderful adventure with opportunities for her to explore the world around her and grow to discover her most powerful tool through art. Ruby experiences synesthesia and has had life challenges which she used the joy and passion of her artwork to overcome. She finds art to be very calming and therapeutic in several ways. In her artworks, she selects colors that combine to create therapeutic effects for her and the viewer. Ruby is currently in graduate school training to become a Mental Health Practitioner who is very enthusiastic in using her artistic skills and research background to help treat and manage various mental health disorders through art therapy and other techniques for her patients. All her works tell unique stories and she does not recreate any of her artwork as an artist since each individual artwork tells different stories in their own ways.
