Born in Cali, Colombia, raised in Brooklyn, NY, currently living in California.Studied Sculpture at Pratt Institute and Visual Art at SUNY college at Purchase.Awarded Fellowship recipient at Oxbow, School of art and artists’ residency.
Influenced by Surrealist, Abstract art, her working class background and gender.She employs a wide variety of materials, mainly working with metal. Her metalwork is characterized by her signature braiding and weaving of steel. A labor intensive process,that pays an homage to her working class roots and her mother’s work ethic.
Her steel inflatables are metaphors for the human body and emotion.
