ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Eugeneia (Gina) Owens-Simmons is best known for her big, bold, crisp, colorful and precise works of art which are full of movement and emotion.  It has been said that Gina’s style of painting doesn’t necessarily follow or break the rules but rather, that she is changing the rules.  Gina approaches each piece with a different state of mind and paints with passion that can only be found in a life well lived.

Gina says, ”Other than my color palette, I don’t really plan what I’ll be painting.  I just allow life, emotion and a bit of Amy Winehouse to drive every stroke.  I don’t really think about whether or not a piece will be accepted or loved, my desire is to simply leave all that I’m feeling in that moment, on the canvas.”

Many artists use painting as a form of healing and Gina is no different. With a tumultuous past behind her, she has found a way to create beauty out of chaos.
