ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Brenda Allison is a versatile and prolific painter who works in oils, acrylic, watercolors and coldwax. Her work is recognized by her exceptional use of color and ability to create depth with her unique layering of materials.
Brenda grew up in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley of California. This area of California is a rich agrarian environment, thus agriculture influences her work in abstracted forms.
In school, art classes filled her day and drove her interests. With a Bachelors of Arts in design and then working in the design industry she explored unusual combinations of textures and patterns, driven by color. These wonderful fundamentals of Brenda’s style as a designer became the foundation of her art. As a professional artist Brenda’s unique approach to the canvas is innovative. Her attention to every detail makes her a perfectionist.
Curious and innovative use of unfamiliar materials, with a contemporary twist graces her work. Brenda Allison has used the ancient method of gold leafing with stunning contrasts or extremely beautiful decorative origami paper or high end wallpaper are just a few of her refreshing elements.
Atypical of other professional artists, when Brenda is considering a new commission she composes a detail proposal of the proposed work for the client’s review. The written proposals include sketches, paint swatches of color palettes and times lines. These proposals build confidence between the client and the artist.
Brenda Allison’s creations are international. She created 105 original paints for “The Venetian” in Macao China and “The Venetian”, Las Vegas Nevada. Brenda is a “published artist” on both the East and West coasts.
Her work is available through several galleries and commercial locations and graces the homes of many collectors.
Art and creativity comes to her without fear but as a driving force to create. An empty canvas talks to Brenda and draws her into endless possibilities.
