Description:
This original silk painting features rusty-hued autumn foliage against the clear blue color of the lake. I wish it will help the viewer to stop for a moment and allow his/her mind to travel to that imaginary scenic place and experience the faded warmth of the beautiful season.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Irina Dorofeeva
Irina grew up in Russia, near Moscow. She was inspired to pursue Aerospace engineering as a career owing that to the city being a hub for ‘science and Russian aviation’. She studied math and physics in Russia at MIPT (also known as the MIT of Russia) and at the University of Notre Dame near Chicago. She moved to Southern California in 2016 and lives in Irvine.
From an early age she possessed a passion for painting and knew that she wanted to express herself through art. Along with her technical studies, she took many courses and workshops at the fine arts departments, always devoting her time to painting to quench her thirst for the arts. With a love of nature and her personal exploration of the environment, she aims to express the meditative nature of landscapes as well as the lyrical beauty of flowers.
She tried to capture nature’s peaceful spirit using different media and spent a few years searching for the ‘right one’ until she discovered silk painting which quickly become her focus. She fell in love with the medium, mastered the technique, and developed her unique and recognizable style. Irina’s work is a part of many private collections, and she has received recognition in her solo exhibitions and juried shows in the US.
