Marie Lavalee was raised in Quebec City, Canada. While in High School, she took night classes where she studied oil painting at the Sylvia Araya Art Academy in Quebec City. Later she moved on to Toronto to gain her Graduate Goldsmith diploma at George Brown. Marie worked with several Premiere Jewelers as a jewelry designer. She then moved to Boston, then finally settled in Southern California.
She uses very intense colors and calls her style "Saturated Fun."
Lately, she has been exploring Mixed Media and it has become an obsession, She makes artwork using very ordinary objects and reintroduces them in an original way.
