Lillian Winkler is a prize-winning Croatian-American artist who has exhibited in numerous solo and group events throughout the United States. She explores landscapes through abstraction in order to arrive at the essential elements of a scene. Winkler favors imagery that depicts a place between fantasy and reality, revealing emotional subtext. She uses oils and metallic pigments, applying washes of each and alternating layers, resulting in compositions that give off a subtle glow in different lighting. Her work is influenced by artists Turner, Innes and Whistler.
