The hurricane Katrina changed his course however, landing him at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge to complete his BFA. Afterwards he left to live in Spain, wanting to experience some of what he had studied. The underground of Madrid and Valencia were particularly influential to him.

LaBry's works are in private celebrity collections as well as the collections of Michael Robertson, Nadine Carter Russel, the LSU Foundation, and the Fredrick Weisman Art Foundation.
The process I use to create my work is as important as my contribution to each piece. The unique curing of each polyurethane scale is as unknown to me as the viewer. I never have a set vision of the final piece. I always allow my work to evolve into what it will be. Like the levies in the gulf, I create boundaries for the pouring of the oil and polyurethane. But as we know, levies do not always hold and there can be an uncontrollable overflow that in the end creates beauty.
It is believed that everything came from water, that it is the origin to life. Some even believe that water once destroyed all living things, but somehow life recycled and continued. My work contains what once was and what will be.
