Roberta Soderberg Alexander was seduced by the sensuous luminosity of encaustic (melted wax) long before it became trendy as it is today. Her paintings are both abstract and representational as they often include bits of paper, leaves and other things from within arm’s reach. She lives in Northern California’s Wine Country and has been exhibited everywhere from San Diego to New York to London. Her encaustic paintings are on boxlike wood panels that come off of the wall 2-3 inches and are hung from a wire in the back.
