Corina del Carmel states that aim in her art is to communicate the links that make us universally connected despite our cultural differences. The human being has always been the main element in the composition of her work and an endless source of inspiration. The human figure inspires her not only as a physical form, but also as a multi-dimensional being of many parts: psychologically (the inner-self), socially (the outer-other self) and spiritually (the mystic-intuitive self). Her paintings are thoughts about simultaneity, velocity and multiplicity mixed with a sense of the stillness of the passage of time and our own passing through time in our world today.
Corina del Carmel grew up in Northern Mexico and began making art at a very young age. She continued with her artistic pursuit in Mexico and after she moved to the Northern California to live and work. there she obtained a sociopolitical consciousness. She keeps a studio in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. Corina del Carmel’s art and travels have been interwoven to produce a multi-cultural perspective and are a puzzle of the imagination. She has exhibited her work widely in various parts of the world.
